‘I simply loved living on Maidstone street, it had everything I needed within walking distance. The street itself was full with friendly neighbours and I made lots of friends in the surrounding area. Victoria park is just amazing, there was never a day I didn’t walk round it. In summer I’d often meet friends there for picnics and my partner and I would often go over and sit there with a drink on a nice Summer’s Evening. The beautiful local bakery - the Bristol loaf is also a must visit just on the other side of the park. The best sourdough around!’
Maidstone Street is made up of colourful Victorian terraces and is situated in a hugely popular part of Bristol, just on the fringe of Victoria Park and in close proximity to the city centre and being a ten minute walk to Temple Meads, the area is ideal for commuters, both within Bristol and to the cities beyond, whilst retaining the feel of a quiet peaceful park location. For families with school age children, there is a choice of the excellent local primary schools at Victoria Park, St Mary Redcliffe and Marksbury Road along with a great choice of nurseries, such as Windmill Hill City Farm & Redcliffe. Within easy walking distance are gastro-pubs such as the Star and Dove, one of the best beer gardens in Bristol at The Victoria Park, cafes such as the Corner Stores and Sundial Kitchen, bakeries such as The Park Bakery and many other shops and restaurants along the Wells Road. Only a short bike ride away are the music venues, theatres, cocktail bars, and other amenities of North Street in Southville, Wapping Wharf, and the City Centre. For those looking for green space, there are few, if any, better places in Bristol. Victoria Park itself offers approximately 50 acres of large open space with fantastic views of the city. There are 2 child’s play areas, a skate park, an adult exercise park, a café, basketball courts, a bowling green, a tennis court and a marked running route for joggers. Perrett’s Park, with its beautiful views, is only half a kilometre away & is the perfect spot to watch the balloons float by whilst the Northern Slopes on the other side has the feel of a secret nature reserve & is the perfect spot to go foraging!
